As suggested by their name, these planters are tall, long and relatively thin. This makes them ideal for forming a sort of low wall. While a low wall on it’s own will not be enough to ensure your privacy, these planters are ideal for planting tall, screening plants like bamboo. Furthermore, while some neighbours might take offense to having a wall or fence put up – a bamboo screen is an effective and polite way of protecting the privacy of your outdoor space. These planters are made of black polystone, making them fairly weather resistant. They are not smooth, rather they have a rough surface, emulating the texture of natural rock. While it may be ok for some to move to the country, many of us do not have the freedom to do so. With the black flared/tapered planter we have a slightly more creative design than others in this range. With this planter, we start to diverge from more contemporary shapes and although they will still fit comfortably with a natural garden design, they are perhaps better suited to providing aesthetic highlights or to complementing specific shapes in your outdoor space. For example, planted with Buxus/Box pyramids or cones – these planters would make diamond shaped columns that would be ideal for adding height or structure to your outdoor space. You can use these around the edge of smaller garden spaces to create the impression of greater depth, and in larger gardens you can use them to create permanent installations that serve to partition bigger empty spaces.
Alternatively, placed in rows of three or four, you can create stylish, contemporary raised beds that appear to float. Again, this is another application for this planter that creates height. Utilising both sizes could also be effective in creating a staggered effect.
These planters are made from black polystone, which is a mixture of fibreglass resin and stone powder. They are not smooth, but textured like stone to ensure longevity. - The products must be unpacked immediately after delivery so any moisture between the packaging and the product is not sealed. This can cause irregular rust and stains
- The accessories such as smoke flues and rain caps are easy to assemble by sliding them together
- With the accessories it is important to pay attention to the diameter of the smoke flues; type Enok and Stig XL have a diameter of 200mm – all other types have a diameter of 154mm
- Start with firelighters with small pieces of dry wood placed on top
- Only use lamp oil with article DNS (Foc); no bioethanol or such
- Use small pieces of dry wood to slowly heat the fireplace and smoke flue. Once the fire is burning clearly, you can slowly increase the fire (use max. 1,5kg dry wood per time)
- Clean the grill immediately after use and store in a dry environment. If the grill is kept in the fireplace for a few days, it will have the chance to rust. Our grills are tested and SGS certified
- Remove the ash after use and clean the flue pipe once a year
- At the coated fireplaces rust may occur on the welded seams. You can touch this up with the supplied spray with heat-resistant lacquer
